SUMMARY:Indo Warehouse
DESCRIPTION:Your parents' music was never meant to end up on a club system at one in the morning\, and there is something quietly thrilling about hearing it there anyway. The sound in question takes instrumentation and vocal lines most of the room grew up hearing at weddings and in kitchens\, and builds them into something designed for a dark space and a serious sound system. For a certain listener that produces a short-circuit: the pleasure of a good club night and the entirely separate feeling of hearing your own childhood treated as source material worth taking seriously. The crowd is mostly\, though not exclusively\, the children of immigrants\, and the energy is less about discovery than about permission. Nobody is explaining the samples. That is the entire luxury of it\, and it is why people come out for this when they would skip a bigger name the same night.
