SUMMARY:Luke Kidgell - Live in the USA - late show
DESCRIPTION:A late show is a different animal from the early one and any comedian will tell you so without being asked. The first crowd of the night is polite\, slightly sober and still deciding whether it is allowed to laugh. The second has already eaten\, already had a drink and arrived having chosen the harder time slot on purpose. Material gets tried out in that room that will not be in the special. Tangents go longer. The crowd work is riskier because the people in front are more willing to be part of it\, and the whole thing runs with the pleasant sense of something slightly off the leash. If you have only ever seen stand-up at a seven o'clock show\, the difference is genuinely worth experiencing once. Sit near the front if you can tolerate the consequences\, and near the back if you cannot\, but do not sit in the middle\, where you get the risk without the reward.
