SUMMARY:Fat\, Evil Children
DESCRIPTION:Local punk bills are the part of a city that does not show up in any guide\, and they are the reason a scene exists at all. Four bands\, most of whom have day jobs\, playing to a room where a third of the audience is in one of the other bands. The economics make no sense and never have. What you get is unfiltered: nobody has been workshopped into a brand\, the between-song banter is genuinely regional\, and the whole thing is over early enough that you are home before you have overcommitted your evening. There is a particular pleasure in watching a band who have clearly played together for years in front of the same hundred people and are still doing it because they want to. Go without expectations and you will get one or two songs that lodge permanently\, which is a better rate than most larger shows manage.
