The format strips away everything a club night uses to flatter a mediocre set: no darkness\, no late-night chemistry\, no mystique. What survives in that setting tends to be groovier and less aggressive than the same DJ would play at midnight\, which is a genuine improvement. Also worth saying plainly: it ends at a civilised hour\, so the whole evening remains available afterwards. Go when you want to have gone out without surrendering the next day to it. The regulars have worked this out and treat the terrace as a standing arrangement rather than a night out\, which tells you most of what you need to know.
