SUMMARY:Mashbit
DESCRIPTION:Mid-December\, a Friday\, a club in San Diego\, and a name almost nobody outside the local circuit would recognise. That combination is what a healthy scene actually looks like most weeks: not the headline booking\, just the ordinary good night that keeps a venue alive between the ordinary good nights. Progressive house at that scale is unhurried and slightly unfashionable\, with long transitions and a general refusal to panic. Nobody is filming it. The people there have mostly been to this room many times and treat it as a default rather than an occasion\, which is the highest compliment a venue can be paid. If you have been waiting for something special enough to justify going out\, consider going out for something that is not. Rooms like this one survive on exactly these nights\, and the people who turn up for them are the reason the big bookings have somewhere to happen.
