SUMMARY:Frankie J & Bobby V - Dos Para Uno
DESCRIPTION:Early-2000s R&B occupies a specific and under-discussed place in Mexican-American Southern California: it was the soundtrack to a generation of quinceaneras\, lowrider shows and first heartbreaks\, and the artists who made it have an audience here far larger and more loyal than anywhere else in the country. A co-headline bill of two of those voices is not a nostalgia package to the people buying tickets. It is closer to a homecoming. Expect couples who met to these songs\, mothers and daughters attending together\, and a room that sings the slow ones louder than the uptempo ones. Downtown Los Angeles\, a Friday after Thanksgiving\, a crowd dressed properly. Send this to whoever had these CDs in a car\, and expect an immediate reply.
