SUMMARY:Yung Gravy: The Joyrider Tour
DESCRIPTION:Comedy rap gets dismissed as a novelty right up until you look at the ticket sales\, at which point it becomes clear that a very large number of people would rather have a good time than be seen to have good taste. The bit here is committed to thoroughly: fifties crooner samples\, deliberately ridiculous boasting\, an aesthetic assembled entirely from thrift-store America. Underneath it the records are genuinely well made\, which is the part that keeps it from wearing out. Live it functions as a party rather than a concert\, with a crowd that arrives in costume-adjacent outfits and treats the whole thing as participatory. Not a night for anybody protecting a reputation. Ideal for a group who have stopped pretending.
