SUMMARY:Pete Tong
DESCRIPTION:Three decades of hosting the radio show that told an entire country what dance music was each week buys a particular authority\, and it is a different thing from being a great DJ. What you get is a curator with an enormous memory playing records in a room small enough to see the mixer. The sets lean historical without being a nostalgia exercise: things that mattered\, in an order that explains why they mattered\, played to people who mostly heard them through a radio first. The crowd skews older than the venue's usual and behaves considerably better. Worth it specifically if dance music arrived in your life through a broadcast rather than a club\, which for a surprising number of people is exactly how it happened.
