SUMMARY:ALISHA
DESCRIPTION:A one-word name on a flyer with no genre attached and no supporting acts listed is a venue trusting its own regulars\, and that trust is usually well placed. Rooms that have been booking the same kind of music for years build an audience that turns up on the strength of the address rather than the lineup\, which is the healthiest possible arrangement and almost impossible to engineer deliberately. House music\, late\, in a Hollywood basement\, on the first Friday of December. Nobody will write about it. A few hundred people will have a straightforwardly good night and most of them will have made the decision to go at about nine in the evening. That spontaneity is the thing worth protecting.
