SUMMARY:Torren Foot\, Gene Farris\, Oliver Blank
DESCRIPTION:One of the names on this bill has been making Chicago house records since before the other two were old enough to get into a club\, which is the sort of generational stacking that a flyer never explains and a set immediately makes obvious. Bills like this are where the lineage of the music actually gets transmitted: the younger acts play harder and faster\, the veteran plays fewer records and gets more out of each one\, and anybody paying attention learns something about restraint. Hollywood Boulevard on a Saturday is an aggressively unserious setting for a genuinely serious lineup. Late start\, long night. Go for the middle slot specifically\, which on bills arranged this way is almost always where the best hour of the evening quietly happens.
