SUMMARY:Anaheim Ducks vs. Detroit Red Wings
DESCRIPTION:Tradition is a strange thing to import\, and on a night like this you get to watch somebody try. Detroit arrives with a hundred years of accumulated belief and a following in Southern California built entirely out of people who moved here and refused to let go. The home crowd has had three decades to construct something of its own from scratch\, in a county with no natural claim to the sport whatsoever\, and has largely succeeded. Watching those two things share a building on a Tuesday in February is more interesting than the fixture list suggests. Midweek in deep winter is also the cheapest hockey of the year here\, and the one time the good seats behave like ordinary seats. If you have been meaning to sit somewhere you cannot normally justify\, this is the night the maths finally works in your favour. Arrive in time for the warmup and watch which sweaters the visiting support has chosen\; on a night like this the old ones outnumber the current ones by a long way.
