DESCRIPTION:Monday is the night the city gives up. Everything good is Thursday through Saturday and you have known that for years\, so the guitar stays in the closet where it has been since you moved here. Second Monday of the month\, in a Miramar taproom tucked between warehouses\, a circle of people who did not give up sits down and plays\, and the circle is open. You bring the instrument. You sit in\, or you sit near\, and nobody auditions anybody. Bluegrass is built for exactly this\; the form assumes strangers and works better with them. Pints run five dollars all day Monday\, which is either a coincidence or the whole reason the room fills by seven. 6:30 to 9:00\, 8920 Kenamar Drive\, Suite 210. No cover. The same taproom hosts a jazz jam on Tuesdays and sends the bluegrass up the coast on the third Monday\, so the circle has somewhere to be most weeks of the month.
