About

Pechanga Resort Casino, 45000 Pechanga Pkwy, Temecula. June 28th. The Beach Boys in a 1,200-seat showroom — the catalog that invented California summer as a sonic concept, played in the most intimate setting it will visit this year.

"Surfin' USA." "Good Vibrations." "God Only Knows." "Kokomo." "Fun, Fun, Fun." The Beach Boys built the soundtrack of a coastal life that people who have never seen the California coast can close their eyes and inhabit. Hearing those songs performed live, at this scale, in Temecula on a late June night — the air warm, the room close — is a different experience from the version that plays in your car on the 15 South.

Pechanga's showroom is designed for this kind of night: clean sightlines, real sound, a production infrastructure that lets the band be the event. Check pechanga.com/entertain for ticket availability. Dinner at the resort before the show if you're making a night of it. June 28th. The music is summer in California compressed into a two-hour set. Be there for it.

Long Beach Jazz Festival 2026
Aug 7 – Aug 9, 2026 Single day $45-75 / Weekend pass $80-120 Rainbow Lagoon Park, 200 Aquarium …

Blankets and lawn chairs on the grass at Rainbow Lagoon Park, the sound going out across the water. The Long Beach Jazz Festival has been getting this right for thirty years — two days of jazz, soul, R&B, and Latin music at one of the best outdoor venues in Southern California. The lineup moves through straight-ahead jazz, smooth jazz, soul, R&B, and Latin jazz across two stages. Past headliners have included Chick Corea, George Benson, Hiroshima, Rick Braun, and Boney James. The festival is known for its relaxed, warm atmosphere: food and wine vendors, an audience that ranges from first-timers to decade-long regulars, and the kind of programming that rewards arriving early and staying until the last note. Rainbow Lagoon Park is 200 Aquarium Way, downtown Long Beach. Flat, accessible, with views of the marina and close to downtown restaurants. Parking in nearby structures. The Blue Line metro stop at Transit Mall is a 15-minute walk. Weekend passes and single-day tickets available. Lawn chairs on-site or bring your own. The festival runs in August — check lbjazzfest.com for exact dates and lineup as they are announced.

Switchfoot Bro-Am Beach Fest 2026 — Encinitas
In 12 days · Jun 13 Free Moonlight Beach, 400 B St, Encinit…

Every summer, Switchfoot plays one free concert on the sand at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas — and every year it is one of the best free shows in Southern California. The 2026 Bro-Am Beach Fest runs June 13 starting at noon, with a surf competition on the beach all morning, food vendors, a sponsor village, and Switchfoot and friends on a stage right at the water's edge as the afternoon light shifts gold. The Bro-Am is not just a concert. It is a fundraiser built around a specific conviction: music, art, and surfing are the things that give underserved youth in San Diego County an anchor. Every ticket purchased to the Benefit Party, every vendor purchase on the 13th, every dollar raised goes directly to organizations working with homeless, at-risk, and disadvantaged young people in the region. The event has raised more than $4 million since it started. The Beach Fest itself is completely free and open to the public. Show up early if you want a good spot on the sand — the crowd fills in by 1pm most years, and the main stage is not elevated, so the view from behind is just the backs of heads. The sweet spot is arriving by 11am, staking a blanket in the crowd zone, and watching the final rounds of the surf competition while the stage gets set. Parking in Encinitas on Beach Fest day is a genuine challenge. The lots near Moonlight Beach fill by 10am. Locals park several blocks back and walk down. The Coaster train stops at the Encinitas station, a 15-minute walk from the beach — this is the cleanest way in if you are coming from the north or from downtown San Diego. Free. Sunny. On the sand. Switchfoot. The Bro-Am is the best free thing San Diego does every summer.

Pacific Beach Night Market
In 3 days · Jun 4 Free Bayard St and Garnet Ave, Pacific …

Every Thursday evening, Pacific Beach comes alive at the corner of Bayard Street and Garnet Avenue. The PB Night Market runs from 5 to 9:30 PM, just 150 steps from the Pacific Ocean, and brings together 9 to 12 rotating food vendors, fire pits, games, and live music in one of San Diego most walkable beach neighborhoods. This is a neighborhood gathering, not a ticketed event. You show up, grab something to eat from one of the food trucks or pop-up vendors, and settle into the fire pit area for the kind of spontaneous Thursday evening that does not need a plan. The music is live and local -- acoustic sets, small bands, the occasional DJ. The crowd is a mix of Pacific Beach locals, students, and anyone who wandered over from the beach. Vendors rotate weekly. Past offerings have included birria tacos, banh mi, craft lemonade, Hawaiian shave ice, artisan pastries, and local small-batch hot sauces. A few artisan and craft vendors typically set up alongside the food. Free to attend. No tickets, no RSVPs. Just walk up. Dress for the beach breeze -- it cools off after sunset even in summer.

Long Beach Symphony: Magnificent Mozart & Mahler
In 5 days · Jun 6 300 E Ocean BL, Terrace Theater - …

Terrace Theater, 300 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach Convention Center. June 6th. The Long Beach Symphony plays Magnificent Mozart & Mahler — a program anchored by two composers who could not be more different in temperament and could not be more fundamental to understanding what orchestral music can do when it's built correctly. Mozart is economy. Every note is placed because it belongs, and removing any one of them would change the architecture of the whole. Mahler is excess, is weight, is the feeling of being caught inside something too large for any one emotion to hold. A program that puts them on the same night has a point of view about what a symphony season should argue. The Terrace Theater is a serious performing arts venue with the acoustics to hold that argument. Tickets at ticketmaster.com. June 6th in Long Beach. This is the kind of night that works for people who have never been to a symphony and want to understand what the fuss is about, and it works equally for people who have been going for decades. The program earns both audiences. Show up and let the room tell you what it knows.

Los Angeles Independent Beer Festival 2026 — Long Beach
In 5 days · Jun 6 $55-$80 Shoreline Aquatic Park, 400 Aquari…

More than 75 independent craft breweries from across Los Angeles gather at Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach on June 6, 2026 for one of the best single-day beer festivals in Southern California. The venue sits next to the Queen Mary — which means you spend the afternoon sampling some of the best small-batch beer in the region with one of the most recognizable ships in the world as your backdrop. The LA Independent Beer Festival focuses specifically on LA-based independent breweries — not regional chain operations or national brands, but the small-production breweries that make the Los Angeles craft beer scene one of the most interesting in the country. Expect IPAs, lagers, sours, hazy pale ales, and more experimental small-batch releases from breweries that rarely get a San Diego platform. If you know the San Diego craft beer scene well, this is the event where you discover what is happening 100 miles north. The festival runs from noon to 4pm. General Admission tickets include unlimited 4-ounce pours across the full lineup of participating breweries. VIP tickets include early entry at 11am and access to an exclusive lounge area near the waterfront. Designated drivers and non-drinking guests are welcome at a reduced rate. Long Beach Shoreline Aquatic Park is located at 400 Aquarium Way, across from the Aquarium of the Pacific and adjacent to Rainbow Harbor. Parking in the downtown Long Beach lots runs $10–$15 for the day. The Metro A Line (Blue) stops at the Transit Gallery two blocks from the park, making this accessible from downtown Los Angeles without driving. This is not the SD Brew Fest. It is not trying to be. The LA craft beer scene has its own character, and this is where you find it concentrated in one place.

Long Beach Beer, Brats & BBQ Festival 2026
Jul 18, 2026 Ticketed — see event page 400 Shoreline Dr, Long Beach, CA 9…

The Long Beach Beer, Brats and BBQ Festival is an outdoor food and drink celebration in the heart of Long Beach, bringing together local and regional craft breweries, BBQ pitmasters, and sausage makers for a casual summer festival on the waterfront. The format is simple and effective: dozens of craft beer vendors pouring samples, BBQ vendors competing for crowd favorites in brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, and a main stage with live music throughout the day. Long Beach has one of the most active craft beer scenes in Southern California, anchored by breweries like Beachwood, Ambitious Ales, Trademark, and Smog City. The BBQ component pulls in dedicated pitmasters from the greater LA region who use the festival as a platform for community feedback and competition. The event is family-friendly during daytime hours, with a non-alcoholic zone for those not drinking. The waterfront location in Long Beach provides a scenic backdrop and easy parking access along the harbor. Check the event organizer's website for the 2026 date and venue confirmation. Ticket price typically includes unlimited samples for the first session. This is the event for Long Beach food culture regulars and craft beer enthusiasts looking for a genuine community gathering rather than a corporate brand activation.
