FNM is the infrastructure of local competitive Magic. The format rotates — draft one week, Sealed another, Standard the next — which means every Friday is a different puzzle. The prize structure rewards performance but the real value is the repetitions: playing consistently at a well-run local event builds your game in ways that kitchen table play and online ranked ladder don't. Artificer San Diego runs events with the infrastructure they require.
