The Hall of Shadows is the reason. A blacked-out stretch of the convention center holding more than a dozen fully built haunts — not teasers, not previews, the real thing — running all three days and included with every badge, no upcharge, no separate line. It is the biggest indoor haunt zone in California outside of October itself. Past that: 350-plus vendors selling costumes, props, seasonal decor, original art, and the vintage pieces that make a stranger grab your arm. Panels on haunt design, practical effects, and cosplay construction, taught by the people who actually build the season.
