The tell that a taco festival is real is the sound of a tortilla press working nonstop — masa hitting the comal, fresh rounds coming off faster than the line can eat them.
That is the register this one runs at. Local and regional vendors competing on fillings and housemade salsas, tortillas pressed on-site all afternoon, and most of the valley turning out because they already know. Local chefs go head to head in a cook-off you get to vote on, the main stage runs music all day, and the tequila and mezcal side keeps pace with curated tastings and margarita competitions.
The proceeds stay home and fund Temecula Valley charities, which is a large part of why the community shows up in force year after year rather than once.
