The cupsleeve is not the point and everyone there knows it. The point is that somebody sat down and designed one, printed it, and carried a box of them across town so that strangers who love the same people could hold the same object on the same afternoon. Koreatown does this before the convention center does anything. Fans organize it themselves — community-designed sleeves for the Day 2 lineup, fan goods, a few hours to find your people and then make the trip to the venue together instead of alone. The neighborhood that understands the culture hosts the culture before the arena gets to. Day 2 draws a different crowd than Day 1: same festival, different fandoms, same recognition on sight. HHD in Koreatown, free to attend. If you were going alone, this is how you stop going alone.
