Every Wednesday the corner of Main and Magnolia in downtown El Cajon fills with cars that somebody's entire year went into: lowriders, muscle cars, custom paint, and every so often an unrestored survivor that pulls a crowd simply because nobody has ever touched it. Owners roll in through the afternoon and the street belongs to spectators by early evening. The mix turns over week to week, so no two Wednesdays look alike, and the themed nights bring out builders who otherwise stay home. The Lowrider Royale edition draws the most committed builders in the county.
