What it was like
Every summer, Chumash Park in Agoura Hills turns into the kind of place where you lay a blanket on the grass, open a cooler, and let the music do the rest. The City of Agoura Hills Summer Concerts in the Park brings free live music to 5550 Medea Valley Drive on select evenings through August, with tribute bands covering everything from CCR to Bob Seger. The August lineup: Fortunate Son playing Creedence Clearwater Revival on August 2, and Turn the Page playing Bob Seger on August 16. Both shows start at 6:00 PM. Bring chairs, bring kids, bring the neighbors you have been meaning to invite somewhere. The July 5 show featured a 300-drone patriotic light show after the concert — proof that this little park series punches above its weight. Free. Family-friendly. The kind of evening where you remember that the best things in Southern California do not cost anything.
