Primal Pro built its roster out of a training facility on Mercury Street in Chula Vista, which means the people putting their bodies on the line in front of you came off the same freeway exits you did. They are not performers on a screen. They are neighbors who decided this mattered more than whatever else a Friday night could have been. San Diego's indie scene has been quietly stacking cards that hold up against anything the big promotions bring through town, and the next person to break out of it does it in front of a couple hundred people who will tell everyone they were there first.
