The dawn glass at OB holds a secret the rest of the city won't learn until Monday.
The Western Surfing Association's SaltLife Championship Tour rolls into Ocean Beach September 19–20 for the second stop of the 2025–26 season — two days of competitive surfing judged on power, speed, flow, and the ability to find the critical section of a wave and make it yours. This is grassroots competitive surfing at its purest: no jumbotrons, no VIP tents, just the Pacific Ocean setting the terms and a judging panel that knows the difference between a clean carve and a pretty one.
The OB break serves up 2–3+ foot surf both days with consistent sets and enough variety to separate the surfers who read waves from the ones who ride them. Kodiak Cake pancakes and Got Milk? hot chocolate on the beach both mornings. Sticky Bumps wax and Sun Bum sunscreen on hand. Hot dogs Sunday. Free parking. Free admission.
September 19–20. Heats begin at sunrise. Ocean Beach, San Diego.
