Lights Over America brings its Sky Lantern Festival to Los Angeles on September 19 for an evening where the sky and water come alive with glowing lanterns — the kind of night that makes you forget you own a phone. Start on land as tethered sky lanterns rise above you like fireflies that decided to stay. Then row a boat into the water and release your own lantern with a wish written on its side. Watch it climb until it joins the others — a constellation the city built together in a single evening.
