What it was like
Humphreys holds 1,400 people. That means you are fourteen rows from the stage when Cheap Trick opens with I Want You to Want Me, and the sound hits the water behind you and comes back doubled. April 24, Shelter Island. Surrender. Dream Police. The Flame. Cheap Trick invented power pop and they still play it like they have something to prove. At this venue, at this scale, this is one of the best concerts San Diego will see all year.
