Falkor LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates falkorevents.com, a pop culture event discovery platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Falkor. If you are under 13, do not create an account.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: First name, last name, username, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile information: Profile photo, bio, gender, and date of birth that you voluntarily provide.
- Activity data: Events you save, events you mark as "Going," posts you create or like, comments, and users you follow.
- Location data: If you grant permission, we use your approximate location to surface nearby events. We do not store your precise GPS coordinates.
- Usage and analytics: Pages visited, session duration, and interaction events collected via Google Analytics 4 (property G-1FHV56DRPB) and Microsoft Clarity (property w7kpoan1o6). These services use cookies and similar tracking technologies.
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address collected automatically when you use the Platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Event recommendations: We use your bio, saves, follows, and location to personalize the events we surface to you.
- Email communications: With your consent, we send weekly event digests, onboarding emails, and event reminders. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email — no login required.
- Platform operation: To authenticate your account, display your profile, process crowdfunding contributions (via Stripe), and enable social features (follows, posts, comments).
- Safety: To enforce our Terms of Service, investigate abuse reports, and maintain platform integrity.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: DigitalOcean (hosting and database), Stripe (payment processing), Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. Each provider has its own privacy policy and data protections.
- Advertising partners: Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, may receive device and usage information (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view on Falkor) in order to serve and measure advertising. See Section 6 for detail and your opt-out choices.
- Public profile: Your username, profile photo, bio, posts, and events you mark as "Going" are visible to other users. You can make your account private in account settings.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.
4. Your Rights
- Access and update: Edit your profile and account settings at any time from your account page.
- Unsubscribe: Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also toggle email preferences in your profile settings.
- Delete your account: You may permanently delete your account and all associated data from your account settings page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. However, the use of third-party advertising cookies (Section 6) may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. To opt out, use the consent controls described in Section 6 or email [email protected] with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share." We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
- Data requests: To request a copy of your data or ask questions about how your information is used, email us at [email protected].
5. Cookies
We use cookies for session management (required for login) and analytics (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity). Analytics cookies help us understand how the Platform is used and improve it. By using the Platform, you consent to these cookies.
6. Advertising and Third-Party Cookies
Falkor loads advertising technology provided by third-party vendors, including Google, and may display advertising on the Platform. This section explains what that means for your data.
- Third-party vendors use cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to Falkor and other websites.
- Google's advertising cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Falkor and/or other sites on the internet.
- Opting out of personalized ads: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Consent controls: You may refuse advertising and analytics cookies through your browser settings and the vendor opt-out links above. Where a consent tool is presented to you, your choice can be changed at any time through that tool.
- What advertisers do not receive: We do not share your name, email address, password, date of birth, or precise location with advertising partners. We do not permit advertising partners to serve personalized advertising to users we know to be under 18.
- Ads are not endorsements: Advertisements displayed on Falkor are selected by third-party vendors, not by Falkor, and their presence is not an endorsement by us.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted immediately. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for platform improvement.
8. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Account passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to the database is restricted to authorized personnel.
9. Children's Privacy
Falkor is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the account promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
