The whole city exhales at the first home game. Not because anyone knows anything yet — nobody does in September — but because Sundays have a shape again, and they will keep that shape until winter.

The lots open hours before kickoff, and that is the part regulars protect: the tailgate sprawl across the SoFi campus is its own event, and people who show up at kickoff have never actually been. Inside, the crowd is loudest when the season still feels new. Rams openers pull the entertainment-industry crowd in alongside the hardcore faithful, and the noise reaches a level regular-season games rarely touch.

If you drive, come two hours early, because the lots fill. The Metro K Line runs from Downtown to the Intuit Dome stop and you walk from there. Seats range from upper-deck value to premium sideline, and the opener historically sells through early.
