Cult Classics Cinema Presents DREAMGIRLS
The Miracle Theater, 226 Market St, Inglewood. June 13th. Cult Classics Cinema Presents Dreamgirls — the 2006 film that brought the Motown-era musical to the screen with Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, and Eddie Murphy, presented at a venue in Inglewood that understands exactly what this film means to the community that fills the room.
Dreamgirls is not just a good film. It is the film where Jennifer Hudson delivered one of the most discussed single performances of the 2000s in "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." Watching that scene in a theater, with an audience that came specifically to be in the room for it, is the version of that moment that the movie theater was built for. The collective response to a performance that earns it is not something a living room replicates.
Tickets at ticketmaster.com. June 13th at the Miracle Theater. Cult Classics Cinema curates these screenings with intention — the audience that shows up for a Dreamgirls screening at this venue has a relationship to the material. Come ready to feel something. The theater will take care of the rest.
