Self-deprecating, fearless, and genuinely funny without ever reaching for shock value to land the point — that is a much harder trick than it looks, and it is the whole reason this one is worth the drive out.
There is something specific about watching a comic who came up right here headline the biggest stage in the region. Orange County raised, one of the hardest-working acts in stand-up, a local success story in the most literal sense: he plays rooms this size on the strength of the work rather than a gimmick.
The material is built to disarm you first and then land the real punch, and that only fully works live, where the crowd's reaction becomes part of the timing — the laugh that builds, the beat he waits out on purpose, the callback that pays off twenty minutes after you forgot about it. A recording cannot do that. A room can.
Bring the friend who thinks they have heard every joke already. They have not heard this one land.

Orange County's own headlining at Pechanga. The energy translates — it always does when the room is this close to the material.
