About

Nobody at the table has played with these cards before, and that's the entire appeal. A Prerelease is the weekend you get Magic's newest set before it's officially out — six sealed packs, a deck you build from whatever you crack, and a pod of strangers all solving the same puzzle at once. This one drops Middle-earth onto the table: Bilbo and Gandalf, the One Ring, and a Smaug card that will wreck you at least once before you work out the answer to it. Sealed is the great equalizer — no netdeck, no advantage, just you and what the packs gave you. You show up alone and leave having spent four hours with people who now also have strong opinions about how to beat a dragon. There and back again, in card form. The magic of an open gaming convention is that no one is running a side event for you. You walk in, you find a table, and you play what you want with whoever wants to play it. LFG CON is four days of that. Los Angeles' dedicated tabletop gaming convention — board games, tabletop RPGs, miniatures, trading card games, and everything in between. The 2026 edition runs August 13-16 at the Marriott Burbank. Community-run and designed for the players who know what they want to play before they arrive. The game library is available throughout: check out a game, find a table, play. Organized tournaments run alongside the open gaming.
