Finding the rules was never the hard part of tabletop roleplaying. Finding four other people whose weeknights line up with yours — and staying friends with them long enough to actually finish a campaign — is the hard part.
Adventurers League deletes that problem. You walk in with a character — or you build one at the table — and you sit down inside a story that is already moving. Nobody asks how long you have been playing. A first-timer who has never held a d20 and a veteran of twenty years end up in the same party, and both leave with something they want to keep pulling on. The stories stack week over week, characters grow teeth, and eventually the weeknight stops being a weeknight.
