From August 30 through September 7, 2026, Black Rock City rises in the Nevada desert under the theme Axis Mundi — a temporary city of 70,000+ participants, 75 commissioned large-scale art installations, and an infrastructure that includes a real airport, a medical center, and a Department of Mutant Vehicles. It disappears without a trace. That erasure is part of the philosophy.
