IndieCade 2026 — Los Angeles

IndieCade is the international juried festival of independent games, held annually in Los Angeles in October. It is the Sundance of the games world — the event where independent game developers show work that would never make it onto a Steam front page or into a publisher's portfolio.

The festival is split between a public-facing game showcase, where attendees play nominated and featured games before they release, and a professional conference track for developers, educators, and critics. The game showcase is what draws the audience — a room full of PCs, consoles, and handmade physical games that you play in a few minutes and carry in your head for weeks.

Past IndieCade selections have gone on to become major releases: Monument Valley, Journey, Cuphead, and Disco Elysium all have IndieCade connections. The 2026 class has not been announced yet — that is the point. You see them before everyone else.

Venue and exact October dates to be confirmed at indiecade.com. The event has taken place in Culver City in recent years with IndieXchange in the evenings.
