Happening Now
Every booth here is staffed by the person who made what is inside it, which means you cannot buy anything without first hearing how it was made. That is not a bug in the experience. It is the experience.
More than a hundred and eighty Laguna artists set up under the eucalyptus canopy down in the canyon: ceramics, glass, jewelry, sculpture, woodwork, paintings. Free classes run all season, so you can sit at a wheel and throw a pot badly with your own hands, or push watercolor around until it behaves. Live music plays daily, food and drink line the paths, and the same families come back each summer and greet the same artists by name.
Laguna Canyon Road, late June through Labor Day weekend, free trolley from downtown and the Pageant next door.
Go with the person who insists they are not an art person. Hand them clay.
