Everyone you know went the first weekend and you told yourself you would catch the second one. The people who plan it that way will tell you it was never a consolation. Weekend two is the local's version — Southern Californians who missed the first passes, repeat attendees who already know exactly what they got wrong, and a crowd that treats the second half as the more relaxed and more social of the two. Same polo field, same stages, same headliners, same installations. What changes is who is standing in front of them: veterans who know when to arrive at which tent and what to skip entirely, which is why the second weekend often plays more musically sophisticated than the first. The desert swings hot in the afternoon and genuinely cold after dark, so pack for both. Go with the friend who will still be upright at the last set.
