Two rings running at once means half the room is watching something the other half isn't, and that tension is the whole show.
The technical wrestling fans and the lucha libre crowd end up shoulder to shoulder watching different matches in the same arena, which is a thing you cannot engineer on purpose. The day runs as a tournament — the Summer Classic Championship — settled in a cage match. Between rounds there are wrestler photo ops, a dunk tank, and jousting, because it is still a county fair.
This outfit has been running out of Oceanside since 2009. It is an organization with a community around it, not a corporate booking, and you can tell within ten minutes which wrestlers the regulars came for.
Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. June 19, noon to 8 p.m. Fair admission gets you in the door; parking on-site.
Sit close enough to hear what they say to each other between spots.
