So the surf-leaning guitar riffs are theirs and the reverb is theirs and the songs about almost-relationships and bad timing are theirs, and they keep showing up to play Soda Bar on a Thursday because Soda Bar still books locals on weeknights with the same care it books touring acts on weekends.
