Every Latino household of a certain vintage has a soundtrack, and a huge slice of it is the shimmering, overplayed, gloriously cheesy Spanish-language pop of the 80s and 90s. Matute exists to give all of that back to you at once — a Mexican powerhouse cover band that resurrects Flans, Timbiriche, Menudo, and the whole neon jukebox of your tías' cassette collection, done up big and loud and with a wink. A night with them is a room full of people who did not know they still remembered every word until the first chorus hit, dancing like it is a wedding and they are all cousins. It is pure joy with a lump in its throat — the sound of a childhood living room, played for a whole theater at once. Saturday, September 19, 2026, doors 7pm, show 8pm, The Magnolia.
