Grand Park Sunday Sessions: Baile World — Free House Music in DTLA

The bass finds you before you find the speakers. Somewhere between the fountain and the lawn, between City Hall and the courthouse, two thousand strangers are already moving — and you realize you’re late to something that started without you.

Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions brings Baile World to downtown Los Angeles on July 19 for five hours of Latin house music on twelve acres of public park. Baile World is the LA-based DJ collective founded by DJ CQUESTT — the crew that pulls threads from reggaeton, dancehall, and Caribbean rhythm directly into the house music tradition. Special guests Dos Flakos, the Bronx-based brothers at the forefront of the Tribal House movement, join alongside Josh Peace and Spiñorita.

This is a free, all-ages event. Bring a blanket and a cooler or graze the food trucks. The 21+ beer garden exists for those who need it. A marketplace of local artisans lines the path. Art-making stations dot the edges for kids. But the center is the sound system and the people who showed up because their body told them to.

Doors open at 3pm. Music runs until 8pm. The park sits at the top of the Metro Gold Line. No ticket. No RSVP. Just show up and let the bass find you.
