San Diego State Aztecs vs Fresno State Bulldogs - Homecoming
Homecoming means something different at a commuter-turned-destination school that finally got its own stadium, and San Diego State has leaned all the way into it since Snapdragon opened — a proper college-football Saturday in a city that spent decades sharing a crumbling arena with a departed NFL team. The Aztecs against Fresno State is an old regional grudge, two programs that have traded punches for years, and doing it on Homecoming with alumni back in town and the student section at full volume makes for the best atmosphere on the SDSU calendar. This is the version of San Diego sports that belongs entirely to the city, no absentee owners, no relocation threats, just the local school under the lights. Saturday, October 17, 2026, 7:30pm, Snapdragon Stadium, Mission Valley. Come tailgate in the Mission Valley lots, wear the black and red, and be part of a young football tradition that San Diego finally gets to call its own. Get there loud, welcome the alumni home right, and see why Snapdragon on a Saturday night has become the best show in town.
