Your kid picked the costume in August, has changed it twice since, and will change it again the morning of. This is known. The whole event was built by people who know it.

Brick-or-Treat turns the resort into a Halloween built at kid height. Candy stations scattered across the park, characters in costume handing it out, a monster dance floor going all afternoon, themed builds that exist only for the season. What separates it from every other theme-park overlay is what is missing: no scare zones, no fog in a dark corridor, no teenager in zombie makeup lunging at a toddler. Just a five-year-old in a full Batman suit being taken completely seriously by every adult in the building, which is a rare public service.

Select weekends across the fall in Carlsbad, included with park admission on event dates. Go for the walk back to the car, when they fall asleep still holding the bucket.
