Before the breweries and the housing tracts, this was vineyard country. The town has not forgotten, and once a year it says so out loud in its oldest park.

What happens there is a time capsule that refuses to be precious about itself: live music on the main stage, handmade crafts from local artisans, food running from tri-tip to tamales, wine tasting for the adults and grape juice for the small ones, and barrels set out for stomping. Watching a grown adult attempt that for the first time is worth the trip on its own. The grape-growing heritage here runs more than a century, and this gathering has honored it for most of that time — which is why the crowd is full of neighbors who have been coming since they were the kids sprinting between craft booths.
