When a program from the Shenandoah Valley crosses the country to play in San Diego, the contrast alone is worth the price of admission.

James Madison brings its own culture of football obsession to Snapdragon Stadium — the Dukes don't travel quietly and their fans don't either. For SDSU, this is the final non-conference tune-up before Pac-12 play begins two weeks later against Texas State in the most important home game of the year. The coaching staff will show what it's been building all fall camp. The defense will show what it's capable of against a real opponent. The crowd will show James Madison what a September night in San Diego feels like — seventy degrees, no humidity, and thirty-five thousand people with nowhere else to be.
