What it was like
A band locks into a groove so deep the crowd forgets they have phones in their hands. When the guitar line and the synth weave into something that wasn't rehearsed, something that will never happen again, and five thousand people hold their breath at once because they know it?
Goose brings that moment to San Diego. The Connecticut five-piece has spent a decade building a reputation as one of the most inventive live acts in American music — a band whose setlists are never the same twice, whose jams stretch and mutate and land in places that make the recording feel like a rough draft of the real thing. Their latest album, Chain Your Dragon, gave them the songs. The stage is where they give those songs permission to become something else entirely.
