What it was like
Some nights you need the volume to match what's already happening inside your skull. You need a room where the bass drum hits your sternum before the sound reaches your ears, where the pit isn't violence — it's a handshake between strangers who all showed up to leave everything on the floor.
DevilDriver has been delivering that catharsis for over two decades. Dez Fafara built this band on groove metal that hits like a freight train with a grudge, and the Strike and Kill Tour is bringing that energy to Observatory North Park with Upon A Burning Body and Ov Sulfur stacking the bill so deep the floor will be moving before the headliner takes the stage.
Observatory North Park is the room for this — standing room, balcony overhead, sound system that doesn't apologize. The kind of venue where you can feel the kick drum in the back of your teeth. Doors at 6 PM on a Thursday, which means the people who show up on time came because they needed to be there, not because they had nothing else to do.
The Observatory North Park, 2891 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104. Thursday, August 14, 2026. Doors 6 PM. Tickets from $45 via Ticketmaster.
