The dumpling capital of the West Coast holds court one night a year, and the whole neighborhood shows up.
The Dumpling & Beer Fest takes over the Historic Mission District of San Gabriel — a free-admission street festival where dozens of dumpling vendors line Mission Drive and the craft beer garden pours unlimited tastings from a roster of local breweries. The beer garden requires a separate ticket, but the festival floor is open to everyone: families, food pilgrims, people who just want to eat six different kinds of dumplings and rank them in their phone notes.
San Gabriel is where the strip malls hold Michelin-level food behind fluorescent signs, and this fest is the one night when those kitchens come outside.
