HalGLOWeen at the San Diego Zoo 2026
Every October, after the sun sets over Balboa Park and the last tour group files out, the San Diego Zoo transforms into something your kids will talk about until next Halloween. HalGLOWeen turns the zoo's pathways into a glowing trail of costumes, dance parties, live entertainment, and the particular kind of magic that only happens when a five-year-old in a dinosaur costume stands two feet from an actual tortoise and doesn't know which one is more impressive.
The event runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout October, keeping the zoo open until 9 PM. Costumed characters roam the grounds. Themed food specials, musical performances, and interactive stations are scattered through the exhibits. Kids 11 and under get in free during October when accompanied by an adult with valid admission -- which means the entry price is basically one adult ticket for the whole family.
