Thursday nights are the honest ones. Friday is everybody, and Saturday is everybody's plan. Thursday belongs to the people who decided, on a work night, that the week owed them something.
Tech house lives or dies on a room's low end, and Sound is one of the few rooms in this city built around the sound system instead of around bottle service. The booth sits low and close to the floor. There is no VIP tier looking down on anyone, which quietly changes who turns up and how they behave, because nobody is performing for a mezzanine. Biscits has become one of those UK exports the LA circuit keeps rebooking — the sort of name that draws people who can tell you which room a given set was recorded in.
Doors open at ten, which in this scene means the floor is not worth walking onto before midnight. Plan for Friday to be difficult.
