Off the Hook Santa Monica Seafood Festival 2026 — Santa Monica Pier
The pier smells different in October. Not the usual funnel-cake-and-sunscreen haze — this time it is butter and char and something briny you cannot quite place. Off the Hook turns the Santa Monica Pier into a seafood crawl where LA's best chefs compete to prove they can do more with a fish than anyone thought possible, and Heal the Bay gets the proceeds, so the ocean that supplied tonight's dinner gets something back. This is the eighth year. The format has not changed because the format works: all-inclusive ticket, unlimited tastings from every booth, live music from The Windbreakers, and a sunset over the Pacific that nobody plans but everybody photographs. VIP gets you in an hour early at three, which matters because the lobster sliders have never survived until general admission. The Route 66 Centennial is this year's theme, layering Americana nostalgia over the seafood spread in a way that somehow makes sense when you are standing on the end of the continent where the highway dies.
