Claremont Holiday Promenade & Tree Lighting 2026 — Claremont Village

The season arrives as a to-do list. Shipping deadlines, a party you agreed to in October, the low-grade dread of a group gift thread. Somewhere under all of it is the version of December you actually wanted, which mostly involves being outside in the cold with people and not having anywhere else to be. Claremont Village does that version. The old downtown closes down for an evening, the Depot gets the tree, and the whole thing runs on the scale of a town rather than a city — which is exactly why people who grew up there come back for it. Pictures with Santa run the full three hours at the City Hall entrance. The tree lighting itself is at six, at the Depot. What makes it worth the drive from further out: the Village is genuinely walkable, the independent shops stay open through it, and unlike the big commercial displays there is no ticket, no timed entry, and no queue to get in. You park, you walk, you are in it. Friday, December 4, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free. Claremont Village & Depot, Claremont.
