Los Angeles Rams vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Both sets of fans will park in a lot they have parked in before, and that is the part nobody warns you about. SoFi Stadium is the only building in the league that two franchises call home, so on this particular Sunday there is no road team. Both sides walk into their own locker room. The designated visitors are visiting a place they pay rent on. What that produces is a split building rather than a hostile one — an even division of noise where every single play is cheered by somebody, and an argument that carries on in Inglewood long after the final whistle, because both halves of the crowd have to go back to the same offices on Monday. There is no away end to point at. The person shouting the other way is somebody you know. For a city that spent two decades with no football at all and now has more of it than it knows what to do with, this is the afternoon that asks which half of Los Angeles you actually belong to. November 1, a 1:05 start. Pick a side before you get there. You will be asked.
