The Damned

Orange County has its own claim on this music and does not especially care whether England agrees. Agent Orange came out of Placentia, and for a certain kind of person who grew up between a skatepark and a strip mall, that band is the local evidence that something could start here too. Putting them underneath the British originals on the same bill is the sort of lineup that reads like a thesis statement. So this one is not quite the same night as the downtown show two days earlier, even with the same headliner on the same farewell run. The support changes who is in the room. Harbor Boulevard draws from the whole county, and the crowd will skew toward people for whom this is hometown history rather than imported history - plus The Courettes opening, which is a genuinely strange and welcome addition to a punk bill. A Sunday is also its own filter. Nobody turns up to a Sunday show by drifting into it. Santa Ana, seven in the evening, mid-November, through Live Nation. Three bands, and the one in the middle is the reason locals will be early.
